The story
NORD began as an accounting firm run by a qualified accountant for owner-managed businesses. The work was the same every month: receipts in a folder, a spreadsheet that drifted from the bank, a VAT return assembled in the last week, and an owner who found out how the quarter went after it was over.
The software the firm tried either came from abroad, priced in dollars and without Arabic, or showed the books only to the accountant. So the firm built the one it wanted: every invoice carrying its VAT as it is written, the month's figures on one page the owner opens, and an adviser that explains a number in plain words.
The name is the compass. North is the direction you check against when you are not sure where you are.
